Your baby's first taste of rice is one of the sweetest milestones in a Nepali family. Because it happens only once, a good Pasni photoshoot is worth planning properly.
Grandparents bless the little one, relatives gather, and a tiny spoon of kheer becomes a memory the whole family talks about for years. At Butwal Baby Studio by Poudel Digital in Sukkhanagar, we photograph Pasni ceremonies and baby milestone sessions regularly. This guide covers what to plan, what to bring, and how to choose the right kind of shoot.
What is Pasni and why photograph it?
Pasni, the rice-feeding ceremony, marks the day a baby eats solid food for the first time, usually rice kheer. Many families hold it in the 5th or 7th month for baby girls and the 6th or 8th month for baby boys, though the exact month and date depend on your family's tradition and priest.
The ceremony is full of moments that pass quickly: the first spoonful, the blessings, the puzzled face at the new taste, and the family gathered around. Photographs let you keep all of it.
